"Season of Love" is a campy, light-hearted, holiday melodrama in the style of "Love Actually" and the Hallmark Channel's cheesy Christmas movie fare.
The film's emsemble cast includes:
+ Dominique Provost-Chalkley (from "Wynonna Earp", Avengers: Age of Ultron", "12 Monkeys" and "Carmilla" as Sue, a musician who struggles with anxiety issues, while taking care of her mother, who is suffering from cancer.
+ Janelle Marie (from "Constantine", and "NCIS: Los Angeles") as Sue's girlfriend Janey, a soldier who's recently returned home from a combat tour of duty in Iraq.
+ Jessica Clark (from "True Blood" and "Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce") as the hilariously clumsy, yet kind and intrepid bar owner, Lou.
+ Sandra Mae Frank (from "Entangled," and "Soul to Keep") as the adorable, hearing-impaired welder Kenna, who is helping Lou build her business.
+ Emily Goss ("Criminal Minds" and "Future Man") as the jilted bride, Iris.
+ Laur Allen (from "The Young & The Restless") as Mardou, who picks up the pieces from the wedding disaster... along with the bride. This is the first full-length feature film from Tello Films, and was intended to improve diverse representation onscreen, by giving the LGBTQ community its long sought-after first holiday film centered entirely on their lives, as opposed to merely being a one-off background character, or best friend of the straight couple. The cast is also racially and physical-ability diverse, not as an after-thought, but rather as a real attempt to reflect the world as it actually is.
As VFX Supervisor on this show, I created the title sequence, made all the animated Christmas toy & New Year's fireworks transition sequences complete with what my Producer/Director Christin Baker affectionately referred to as "love dust", built the welding/fire effects, created a viral video interface, performed motion tracking and removal of grip/set rigging items from car shots, and created the animated text messages used throughout the film.
