"Dark Drive" was a sci-fi action feature starring Ken Olandt, Claire Stansfield (who had a recurring role on "Xena: Warrior Princess"), and Julie Benz (who had a recurring role on "Angel", "Dexter", and "Desperate Housewives"). The promo line went something like this: "The year is 2002. The Zircon Corporation has created a virtual prison where criminals' minds are locked up in a digital Alcatraz. But when something goes wrong, it's up to Special Op." This being an action flick, it involved much night shooting, explosions, dirt, jeeba smoke, and because this was filmed in Seattle, rain. As Assistant Locations Manager it was my duty to ensure that we leave the locations as we found them.
On this one, I have to say my favorite moment was standing in a warehouse with a fire extinguisher at 3am, while our special effects man set off three four-story high explosions right by the building. You haven't lived till you've been in a building with flames lapping at the windows, and only one exit.
God, I love the smell of pyrotechnics in the morning!
