This is the primary SaaS application for managing day-to-day film play-out at individual theatrical multiplexes across the country at major chains like AMC, Pacific, Marcus, and Arclight. It runs the show itself, and controls everything from the lights going down inside a theatre, to what advertisements, trailers, and films play on each individual screen.
As another critical component in the suite of movie applications I was hired to redesign, we conducted nationwide online user research via Surveymonkey using card sorting, as well as both qualitative and quantitative analysis, and invited stakeholders to review the design as a part of their yearly, required certifications as Theatre Projectionists. We conducted think aloud user testing to observe reactions and get a better sense of the mental model they had of the software, and asked them to fill out exit questionnaires prior to heading back to their respective theaters. I then utilized that analysis in a positive way to integrate their commentary and user requests into the design.
