I was tasked with creating this invitation design to promote an event at the Yale Club in New York City where the documentary film, "Emergency in Darfur" was screened. The film was hosted by NBC Special Correspondent, Dr. Bob Arnot. I also produced and edited an accompanying DVD of the film for attendees.
The image of the little boy shows him peering out from the fenceline of a refugee camp. I intentionally faded the image behind the title, because while the public were generally aware at that point, news from the region was beginning to fade into the weeds of the news cycle. I wanted to visually represent that challenge to attendees as a part of urging them to step their committments to resolving the problem. It also serves as a nice way to punch up the title.
