I produced this invitation to promote International Medical Corps' World Water Day event in Santa Monica, California. It involved a community hike wherein participants would carry 5 gallon canisters of water to show them the struggles of others worldwide who must often travel as far as 5 miles every day on foot just to retrieve clean water. The attempt is to inform, and create empathy with this problem that effects over 1 bllion people, in the hopes that this will motivate them to donate time, political outreach, or funds towards solving the problem.
I'd prevously used a similar faded image background technique for a Yale Club invitation that everyone liked, so I repeated the technique here.
